Principal Research Interests

Theories of truth, the philosophy of language, metaphysics, the philosophy of mind.

‘A Brief History of Truth’ (with Stewart Candlish) in Dale Jacquette (ed) Handbook of the Philosophy of Science, v 11, Philosophy of Logic (Elsevier: Holland), 2007.
Despite its title, this is a fairly massive paper tracing the history of theories of truth in the twentieth century. Because of its size it’s broken into four parts: early views (from 1900-1930) [399 KB pdf download], middle views (from 1930-1970) [396 KB pdf download], later views (from 1970-2000) [541 KB pdf download] and then the references [183 KB pdf download].
